A non-competitive Japanese martial art of blending, balance, and resolve. All ages and experience levels are welcome on the mat.
Aikido was founded by Morihei Ueshiba as a path of self-development through martial practice. Rather than meeting force with force, the aikidoka learns to receive an attack, blend with its motion, and redirect it — neutralizing aggression while protecting the attacker from harm.
Training pairs flowing footwork and posture with throws, pins, and joint techniques, alongside the wooden sword and staff. There are no tournaments and no contests; progress is measured by sincerity, attention, and time on the mat.
